I dug a box full of old artwork spanning from 2007-2016 out of my dad's storage unit a few days ago. Needless to say, I am very surprised at what I found! Journals and sketchbooks full of poetry, to-do list, broken hearts, and letters I never sent to my friends. I also stashed all of my film photography from high school and college in there! So many familiar faces and memories I have forgotten about!
Calling myself an artist has always been awkward for me. I waste a lot of time comparing myself to others and forgot that I am also capable of creating my own world. You just have to "do it." Opening this box was the second greatest idea I've had recently next to learning to play guitar! (Lets be honest here, in the Age of Quarantine, you can never have too many hobbies.)
Anyways, I have taken some nice photographs of all of my favorite artwork over the years and made sure it is all nicely stored in a giant sketchbook instead of thrown about a bin. My goal is to archive them here on my blog as a timeline to my artistic growth! Hell, I hope it inspires someone else to share their sketchbooks! I want to see!!!
Lets start with 8 sketches from 2015 when I lived in Rhode Island.
